Summary

A five-year-old Cerebus sits on a log, watching the house of a young blonde girl named Cherie. When she opens the door, he ducks behind the log. He follows her when she goes out into a field, picking berries into a pail. Noticing some flowers, Cerebus picks a bouquet for Cherie. His fear overwhelms him, so he picks up a small stone and tosses at the back of her head. She begins crying, as Cerebus races off into the forest, very much in love with the girl next door.
