Red Marches

Located between the Sepran Empire to the west, the T'capmin Kingdom to the east, and the Feldwar States and the Kota Mountains to the south.
Once solely owned by the Pigts, now occupied by their remnants along with several other scattered tribes, including Conniptins, and the Hsifan Khanate.
During the Summer, sub-tropical rainfall pours down for weeks constantly.
Plains dwellers of the Red Marches are said to burn ceremonial skunks.
During the Summer of 1411, Cerebus spent some time doing border patrols in the marches for mercenary captain Turan Genn.

"No, I had no idea that the Marche region was called that because they sat on the border of the papal estates, but I'd be willing to bet that my former brother-in-law who created the map and place names - and so named the Red Marches - knew it. He was and is very well-read and self-educated. I continually trip over his sly references to obscure historical items - like Clovis and Suetonius which he transmogrified into Suenteus."
