At their height, the Pigts had great cities and an impressive system of roads. (28, p.13) They claim to have toppled many empires some of which are the Redeemer Dynasty, the Eastern Monoliths and the Black Tower Empire (5, p.12). They allegedly caused the Mystic Cataclysm that ended the Black Tower empire. (28, p.14)
An ancient Pigt Shaman-King created the sword, medallions and helmet that Cerebus later found. A fraction of the Pigts who believed in the icon of "He who is to come after", the aardvark icon, went underground and were protected by the spirits of those ancestors who believed that the icon was the perfect aardvarkian form. (issue 196)
A party of four Pigts, including two named Partha Qua Non and Cromag Macs Milc, discover Cerebus while he's hiding in a tree hollow, during the summer rains of his 26th year, a half-hour from their camp. They hunt him, thinking he's food, and are stunned when they see that he resembles their idol.
Later Fret Mac Mury attempts to talk the Pigts into staying underground, but when he is struck by lightening and killed, the Pigts arm themselves and march across the Red Marches.
To some extent these are a parody of the Picts, as written by Robert E. Howard.
They are fond of drinking fermented goat's blood (5, p.12).
They march in units twelve men deep and twelve men abreast (159, p.16).
- "We are a private people and find the privacy comforting" (5, p.9).
