Issue Summary
Shep Shep asks Cerebus if Cerebus still insisted that the Character in F. Stop’s “Pleasure’s Simple Life” wasn’t based on Joanne.
Cerebus pictures Jaka and his head and said that is right, she isn’t. We get more revised history from Shep Shep from New Joanne’s point of view. Cerebus asks Shep Shep what is in the box. So Shep Shep explains to him what it is and shows him the baby-lion creature that is a clone of Shep Shep. We see Shep Shep’s plans for the future. The creature is put back in the box and Shep Shep leaves the room. Cerebus in his disgust gets his sword from under his pillow and goes to kill Shep Shep.

p. 155: "I think 299 probably answered you questions about what role Ham and Bear played in the two fishing trips on both sides of the equation. Cerebus obviously hoped that he was being Ham-like and/or Bear-like and that his son was as enthralled with his father as his father had been with Ham and Bear."
From the March 2004 Q&A session:
03/04: Q: Was the runed sword in that dream was coincidental with the one in 299/300? Or were you trying to make a connection. Same question with respect to the dream slice to the neck, and Cerebus' broken neck. If it was intentional in 300 - was it intentional foreshadowing in Rick's Story?
DAVE: You guys are so lucky that Ger is here as support staff. I would be so lost. Anyway, he just said that when he put the rune markings on the dagger at the end of 299 (I had roughed in a short sword, but all of my short swords look like BWS short swords, aka Cerebus' old sword, so I thought, if I put it in, it's going to look like the old sword and everyone's going to be asking, How did he get his sword back. AAAAGH!) So, I just told Ger to put a different sword/dagger in. Whatever he wanted. He just tells me now that he thought that: it looks like Cirin's sword in the dream/fantasy sequence in RICK'S STORY. I had no idea. If you live long enough you will find out everything.
