Issue Summary

On the moon the Judge realizes that he isn't the Judge anymore, he is now George, and he also realizes he was wrong more than once. While lying on the floor he talks with Elf, who asks him to get a house and wife so Elf can call her Mom. When Cerebus responds that he doesn't have any money and he can't leave the tavern or the Cirinists will kill him. Elf thinks about this, and tells Cerebus not to go anywhere. Elf goes *poit* and disappears.

Cerebus sees his young self and his mother. His young self is disappointed with his older self.

Annotations

  • Cover: The cover is another Dave McKean-style collage (see note to 165, Cover). The major piece is a picture of Cerebus on the balcony from the opening of this issue, apparently on a Tarot-style card. (Alexx)
  • 1: The flying sofa is reminiscent of a similar one from the opening of Douglas Adam's _Life,_The_Universe,_And_Everything_. (Alexx)
  • 2: "She severed the link" With Cirin? Or with Cerebus? (Alexx)
  • 3: Cerebus is apparently flying closer to the stars (and the moon?) (Alexx)
  • 6: "I know that you don't want to spend the rest of your life drinking and *barfing*..." Actually, judging from his past behaviour, this is not necessarily true (Alexx)
  • 8: The man shovelling snow bears noticeable resemblance to the Judge.
  • 8: The cloaked figure would appear to be Death (the one from issues 8 and 151). (Alexx)
  • 14: This entry must have been written sometime between issue 152 and now. (Alexx)
  • 15: This entry was probably written somewhere between issues 40-49. (Alexx)
  • 16: "Do you suppose she's listening?" Apparently so. (Alexx)
  • 17: "Left hand just exploded" (Wild Cards ref? xxx). (Alexx)
  • 20: This page is drawn from Cerebus' point of view, as he lies on the floor. (Alexx)
